The Village of Mount Carmel was voted a "Top 10 Desirable Carmel Neighborhood" by Monthly
Magazine, AND "Top 12 Great Neighborhoods on the Rise"
by Indianapolis Monthly Magazine!
The VOMC is made up of 485 households and is comprised of families,
and homes, in different stages of life. The VOMC Civic Association was
started in September of 1974 as a Not-for-Profit Corporation. The Civic
Association was designed to be the mediator between the City of Carmel and
neighborhood residents. As in the past, it is the goal of this Association
to pass important news to Civic Association member residents, now and in the future.
It relies on good neighbors like you to keep it running.
The Civic Association is one of two Homeowner Association Boards in the Village
of Mount Carmel neighborhood. It began as the first Association and was made to
service the entire neighborhood
and deal with items such as Road & Sign Damage and Snow Plowing. It was also formed to be the
social aspect of our neighborhood, hosting social events to create
a community atmosphere.
The Civic Association has been modernized through
the years to include many issues such as City Road Construction, Crime Watch, and Political /
Zoning issues, but it continues to set the stage for the community's bond. Social
activities have been retired or changed but, as you'll see in this website, we still strive to make this
the best place in which to live.
The VOMC has a lot to offer your family. No matter in what section you choose to
live, you will find the feeling of community. History has long been
made in this area.
You will learn about community activities
and meetings in the next few pages. The website provides regularly updated
information about life in the VOMC and other helpful information, such as,
answers to common questions, By-Laws, Crime Watch, Neighborhood Events and much
more. For a small annual fee, VOMC residents can join the many homeowners who enjoy the
'perks' that the Civic Association has to offer.
You are the future of the Village of Mount Carmel neighborhood. Our
future depends upon your participation. We will always depend on
member participation, upon the initative of those that will attend
Annual Meetings, serve on committees or on the Board, involve themselves
directly to insure we are properly managed, anticipate and minimize
problems, engineer sound solutions, plan our finances, provide good
communication with our membership, and ensure the continued good
health of our property and neighborhood values. As is true in any developed community, success depends on homeowner
involvement, cooperation, and consideration among owners and residents.
